EVERYTHING SOUNDS BETTER ON VINYL RECORDS

If one compares, music on vinyl records/albums is a better listening experience. Not just because the music actually sounds better (analog 'warmth' versus 'cold' digital), or because vinyl is ‘cool’ again. It’s simply better because you pay more attention to the overall musical experience.

There’s a never-ending debate whether music played from vinyl albums sounds better than digital music, and if one thinks about it logically, most of the best music in history was recorded and experienced with the vinyl record as its primary medium. It’s also just richer and more pleasurable overall.

You might say, 'OK, but where can I buy vinyl records anyway?" "Where can I buy new (or used) albums?" And the answer, believe it or not is simply on Amazon.com They have an amazing amount of both new and used vinyl records for sale, usually with better prices and deals all the time. So without sounding like a broken record, you can begin your search here instantly with the #1 selling vinyl album listed on Amazon itself.

  • Listening to music is a physical act

During the early 80’s the CD was just coming onto the scene. Most music was still bought on vinyl or cassettes. Not only collectors bought vinyl, but people also began to buy enough CDs to eventually take over the market and vinyl all but disappeared as a format for newer music. However, vinyl just quite never went away.

Too many early CDs of classic records (like the Beatles) sounded awful due to technical issues in converting the analog recordings to digital. Used record shops flourished because they catered to
music lovers who couldn't afford the higher priced CDs. Some famous musicians like
Neil Young began to argue that all digital music sounds inferior, and that the technical causes of that inferiority couldn't be overcome.

  • It's not just a comeback

Today, vinyl is once again a popular format for new releases. It’s impressive how hundreds, if not thousands of records shops have not only selections of new music on vinyl but old LP’s and new LP’s available.

Lots of hipsters into music prefer vinyl and also love it for the retro-cool factor, and partly for the low cost of used collectible vinyl, and the fun in searching for it, but also because listening to music on vinyl is a ritual with a number of related parts.

This results in actively listening to music rather than treating it as just another piece of product-content in our device-infatuated life.

  1. You can’t take vinyl with you, and have to be at your stereo.

  2. You physically handle the record, and keep it clean.

  3. You have to operate the machine that has moving parts.

  4. The sound of the record won’t be the same every time, because playing a record literally wears it out. But that makes you treat the vinyl and the music on it with much more care and respect.

  5. Lastly, you can’t jump from song to song with a click. So you hear songs that you’d otherwise miss.

  6. Plus, a record’s sleeve can be 12 by 24 inches, allowing ample room for really cool art – outside and inside and sometimes even a poster included. There are even vinyl albums with amazing artwork etched into the actual grooves of the records.

Combining all these elements makes it likely that you are either already passionate about what you are hearing or more likely to become passionate about it. Whether you're a musician or not, being in love with music is more than just wearing a T-Shirt - it'll be self-evident in other ways as well.

If music is an important part of your life and has depth and meaning, you should get vinyl and a quality vinyl record player / turntablespeakers and headphones. This way you’ll be guaranteed to completely enjoy the musical experience you’re meant to.

So what are you waiting for?
